About the QR Code Generator
The QR Code Generator turns a web address, a short message or any text into a QR code that phones can scan. Use it for menus, event links, Wi-Fi notes or business cards.
The code is created locally in your browser with a small open-source library loaded from a CDN. Codes are static, which means they never expire and do not track scans; the content is stored inside the image itself.
How to use it
- Enter your Text or URL.
- Choose a Size in pixels and press Generate QR.
- Press Download PNG to save the image.
Before you print
Always test the code with at least two phones.
Include the full address starting with https://.
Keep strong contrast, dark code on a light background, and leave a blank margin around it. Print at least 2 cm wide.
Real-world examples
Restaurant menu. Link to a PDF menu and put the code on tables.
Business card. Link to your website or contact page.
Event info. Encode a short schedule or note as plain text.
Poster for an event. Link to a booking page.
Common mistakes
Printing too small: below about 2 cm, phone cameras struggle. Low contrast, such as light grey on white, or inverting colours can stop scanners. Encoding a link that later changes: the code is fixed forever, so use a stable address. Not testing on two different phones before printing.
How it works
The text is converted to bytes, split into blocks, and protected with Reed–Solomon error correction so a code stays readable even if part of it is damaged. The data is arranged in a square grid with three position squares in the corners that tell a camera where the code starts and how it is rotated.
Frequently asked questions

Can I track scans?
No, tracking needs a dynamic service.
Is the content sent to HandyHex?
No, but the library loads from a CDN.
