About the Case Converter

The Case Converter rewrites text in a different letter case. Fix a paragraph typed with caps lock on, format a headline in Title Case, or lowercase a list for consistent sorting.

Four modes are provided: UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case (first letter of each word capital) and Sentence case (first letter of each sentence capital). The result appears in the output box, ready to copy.

How to use it

  1. Paste your text into Input text.
  2. Click one of the case buttons.
  3. Press Copy result.

Notes

Title Case here capitalises every word, so small words like "of" or "and" are also capitalised. Adjust them by hand if your style guide requires.

Proper nouns inside Sentence case may be lowercased; check names and acronyms.

Your original text stays in the input box.

Real-world examples

Fixing caps lock. Paste a paragraph typed in capitals and convert to sentence case.

Headlines. Turn a draft title into Title Case.

Clean data. Lowercase a list of emails or tags for consistent matching.

Common mistakes

Sentence case will lowercase proper nouns and acronyms (NASA, London), so recheck names. Title Case here capitalises every word, while style guides keep short words like 'of' and 'the' lowercase. Converting text that already has mixed case is fine, since the input is never changed.

How it works

Upper and lower case use the browser's built-in locale-aware functions. Title Case capitalises the first letter after each space. Sentence case lowercases everything, then capitalises the first letter after each full stop, question mark or exclamation mark.
